Today’s technique is a fancy one. Jiu Jitsu World Champion Cyborg Abreu in today’s video breaks down a sweep that he uses from the Tornado Guard which he uses to ultimately finish his opponent with the kimura from the top. I know it sounds wacky and impossible but Cyborg does it and the mechanics behind it make sense.
While I don’t think I will be able to hit this move against anyone anytime soon, I don’t think it’s impossible to get. I have written at length in the past about how necessary drilling is to hit complex moves. I think that with the proper drilling, proper positioning, and a desire to really finish this sweep/submission that anyone can add this move to their tool belt. There seems to be a lot of small details in hand and leg positioning that need to be worked out prior to attempting it live. Check it out!
