2013 was an awesome year. 2014 will be even better. To help focus my training I am once again setting three Jiu Jitsu related goals. So without further ado here we go! My 2014 Jiu Jitsu goals.
Chokes Chokes Chokes!
If 2013 was the year of leg locks, I want 2014 to be the year of chokes. Darces, Anacondas, Guillotines…..I want to use them all. To help with this goal I am going to work on one choke in particular for 30 days at a time. During these 30 days I am going to be constantly researching, drilling, and trying to use just one choke. Up first is my guillotine. I drilled my guillotine a little in 2013 so I no longer feel like it’s a white belt move, but this is the year I really want to step it up. It’s a very dangerous, quick, and nasty choke that would fit in nicely with my Darce game.
Work Towards My Brown Belt
Even a year later it seems weird to think that I’m halfway to a black belt. Now that I’m a purple belt my next goal is my brown belt. I don’t think I am any where near ready for it but my goal is to continue to refine my game so that maybe next year I might be ready for it.
Improve My Cardio and Overall Fitness
Ahhh yes the generic goal!!!! My time in the gym is limited now but that doesn’t mean that my cardio should drop. By the end of 2014 I want to be able to see a big improvement in my overall cardio and fitness.
There are my goals for 2014. What are some of yours?
