I can’t believe that 2015 is already here. It sounds cliche but 2014 went by super fast. Ohh well.. A new year means another round of goal setting. Without further ado here you go!
#1 WORK TOWARDS MY BROWN BELT
This year instead of setting a specific goal of more chokes or more leg locks I wanted to set an overall goal of working towards my brown belt. As I progress and work towards my brown belt I know that my instincts or instructors will tell me what I need to work on. My goal for 2015 is to continue to work towards earning my brown belt.
#2 KEEP UP WITH MY JIU JITSU NOTEBOOK
I’ve always tried to document my jiu jitsu journey. Whether it be this website, my failed tumblr page, or random notebooks, I’ve tried various ways of documenting and none seem to stick. This past September after reading an article in Jiu Jitsu Magazine I started another journal. This time though I had a format to follow and an article telling me how much reflecting like this after training can help. So far I have been really good about updating my journal after each class. My goal for 2015 is to continue my journal and even share some of it with my readers.
#3 POST MORE OFTEN
During the later part of 2012 and the early part of 2013 I was killing it on this blog. I went 100+ days of posting new original content. During that time my brain was on fire. I was dissecting and analyzing every part of my game and my teammates games. During 2014 I wrote 8 blog posts…..Yup…..8…..8. My goal for 2015 is to compose at least 1-2 original blog entries a month.
Boom. There you go. Now what are your goals for 2015?
