In keeping with the theme of armbars I wanted to share a video that Coach Alder and Coach Mike “Lobes” Frausto of 10th Planet Van Nuys made a while ago. In the video Coach Lobes shows the helicopter armbar drill. This drill has helped me improve my guard. Obviously my armbars from guard have gotten better but even more importantly I worked on my hip movement. As I mentioned earlier in my post “Who Says Size Matters Pt 2” hip movement is a big part of my game. Having solid hip movement has helped me attack and escape from positions where I previously was neutralized.
